When I inherited this house, the walls were white, the drapes were dark, and the room was a living-dining combination. Although
I'm still fine-tuning, I'm enjoying this arrangement with the "parlor" at one end and the "library" at
the other.

Part of the toy tree display includes two of my Christmas treasures that were gifts from my mother. One of my loves is tea
- tea pots, tea sets, tea cozies, drinking tea, tea parties - well, the first Christmas I did a toy tree, I also had the idea
to find a miniature tea set and have a "teddy bear tea party" beside the toy tree. I hadn't had time to hunt for
a tea set, nor had I mentioned to anyone I wanted to do that. One day, my mom showed up at my door with a bright pink box.
She'd just been shopping and she couldn't resist this item. She handed it to me and said, "I have no idea what you'll
do with this, but it was too cute to pass up." When I saw what it was, I said, "I know EXACTLY what I'll do with
it!" This little set with the teddy under the Christmas tree has been part of my Christmas every year since then.
A couple of years later, she and Dad gave me the book, A CUP OF CHRISTMAS TEA by Tom Hegg. It's an illustrated poem about
the author's reluctant Christmas visit to an elderly aunt who had had a stroke. He learns some valuable lessons about life
and love, and he finds himself truly enjoying his visit as he and his aunt have a cup of Christmas tea.

The back end of the room, formerly the diningroom, is now my "library" with my grandmother's bookcase, my music
collection, and of course, the computer. The Santas that can't sit around go on their own tree. If it's Santa, it's on there!

"Oh ho, the mistletoad hung where you can see..." MistleTOAD?!?!?!?!?!? Yup! And she works, too! ;)

My politically correct "Persons of Snow" display :) The Mardi Gras masks and peacock feathers stay up year-round.
